Teeniepaar Emily (Liana Liberato) und Randall (Noah Le Gros) wollen einen romantischen Urlaub im Strandhaus von Randalls Vater verbringen. Der idyllische, abgelegene Ort scheint dafür perfekt geeignet. Doch schon kurz nach ihrer Ankunft merken die beiden, dass sie in dem Haus nicht alleine sind. Die Turners, ein befreundets Paar von Randalls Vater, haben sich bereits in dem Ferienhaus einquartiert. Trotz des Altersunterschieds verstehen sich die vier blendend und verbringen einen feucht-fröhlichen Abend zusammen. Am nächsten Tag leiden alle unter den Auswirkungen des Vorabends - oder ist es mehr als das? Irgendetwas ist in dem Wasser, die Turners Jane (Maryann Nagel) und Mitch (Jake Weber) verhalten sich absolut seltsam und am Strand tauchen schleimige Kokons auf. Kann es sein, dass alles mit dem leuchtenden Nebel zu tun hat, der sich am Abend über die Landschaft gelegt hatte? Was Emily und Randall vorerst für ein Naturphänomen hielten, scheint weit darüber hinaus zu gehen. Aber als sie beginnen zu begreifen, in welcher Gefahr sie schweben, ist es bereits zu spät und die Katastrophe hat entsetzliche Ausmaße angenommen...
Wenn aus dem Traumurlaub ein Alptraum wird! Exakt diesem Szenario muss sich das junge Paar in 'The Beach House' (2019) stellen, als sich ihre Umwelt in dem idyllischen Ferienort gegen sie wendet und die romantische Auszeit zum nackten Kampf ums Überleben wird. Die beiden Hauptdarsteller, die trotz ihrer jungen Jahre schon mit Hollywoodgrößen wie Nicolas Cage und Donald Sutherland zu sehen waren, zeigen hier eindrucksvoll, dass sie auch auf sich allein gestellt, einen ganzen Film tragen und die unheimliche Stimmung, ganz im Stil von 'Die Körperfresser' transportieren können. Ein US-amerikanischer Horrorfilm von Jeffrey A. Brown, der aktuell unangenehm näher ist, als man wahrhaben möchte.

Teen couple Emily (Liana Liberato) and Randall (Noah Le Gros) want to spend a romantic vacation in Randall's father's beach house. The idyllic, remote place seems perfectly suited for this. But shortly after their arrival, the two realize that they are not alone in the house. The Turners, a couple of friends of Randall's father, have already taken up residence in the holiday home. Something is in the water, the gymnasts Jane (Maryann Nagel) and Mitch (Jake Weber) are acting absolutely strangely and slimy cocoons appear on the beach. Could it be that everything has to do with the glowing fog that had settled over the landscape in the evening? What Emily and Randall initially thought was a natural phenomenon seems to go far beyond that. But when they begin to understand the danger they are in, it is already too late and the catastrophe has taken on horrific proportions...
When the dream vacation turns into a nightmare! This is exactly the scenario the young couple has to face in 'The Beach House' (2019) when their environment in the idyllic resort turns against them and the romantic break turns into a naked fight for survival. The two main actors, who despite their young years have already been seen with Hollywood greats such as Nicolas Cage and Donald Sutherland, impressively show here that they can carry a whole film on their own and transport the eerie mood, in the style of 'The Body Snatchers'. An American horror film by Jeffrey A. Brown that is currently uncomfortably closer than you would like to admit.
